DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

The Operations & Maintenance Technician assigned Planner/Scheduler is responsible for the daily planning and scheduling of maintenance, operations, and specialized maintenance work activities for a water and/or wastewater treatment plant or facility. The incumbent implements and maintains an established maintenance strategy and plan, coordinates work assignments with staff and contractors, prepares work orders, procures maintenance parts and supplies, maintains a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) database, matches employee skills with work assignments, and schedules work by shift. This classification initiates work assignments and reviews work for completion. This assignment is not supervisory, and does not have responsibility for employee performance.

Knowledge of: Ability to: Additional Requirements: ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Completion and accreditation of the Water Services Department's O&M Technician Level I Skill Blocks and one Level II Skill Block and a minimum of the appropriate ADEQ Grade II certification. Employees at Level III are not eligible for this assignment.
